Katherine Murray is the Special Projects Manager for the Australian Urban Observatory in the RMIT Centre for Urban Research.
Katherine Murray has a background in architecture (BArch RMIT) and sustainable development (MSc OBU) focusing on social infrastructure and urban design.
She is passionate about achieving better, more human-centred, outcomes for cities, and driving urban strategy and community engagement to reach these goals. Prior to her return to Melbourne in 2018, Katherine spent 20+ years living, working and studying in a range of global cities, including significant periods in Oxford, London, New York, Tokyo and Singapore.
Katherine is a part of the Australian Urban Observatory team, a new digital planning tool that maps urban liveability data across Australia’s 21 largest cities. The Australian Urban Observatory draws on years of policy-relevant research, into the links between public health and the built environment, by the Centre for Urban Research, RMIT University.
Ten City Solutions gives strategic direction to Katherine’s ongoing work in urbanism. She is a member of the Building and Grounds Committee at Trinity College, University of Melbourne and continues to support urban education through her Young Urbanists social enterprise.
