RMIT University’s Centre for Urban Research is pleased to invite you to Cecily Maller’s seminar: Health Promotion, Social Practices and Designing Healthy Places.

Seminar Brief

Cecily will delve into contemporary theories of social practice as used in consumption and sustainability research to provide an alternative means of understanding human action in relation to health and wellbeing and to inform health promotion and neighbourhood design. The seminar introduces two key aspects of theories of social practice useful for thinking about how to conceptualise health and lifestyle interventions drawing on research from Selandra Rise, a master planned estate in Melbourne designed to promote residents’ health and wellbeing.
