RMIT University’s Centre for Urban Research and School of Global, Urban and Social Studies are proud to present the launch of The Public City: Essays in Honour of Paul Mees.

The Public City, edited by Beau Beza and Brendan Gleeson, is a tribute to one of the world’s great activist-scholars—the late Paul Mees—whose urban ideal counted on a watchful, confident and well-informed citizenry to work collectively in a quest for fair and just cities.

Developed in partnership between RMIT University and The University of Melbourne, The Public City is largely a critique of neo-liberalism and its arguably negative influence on urban prospects.
