Catalina Mardones Martinez

Catalina is doing her PhD under the RECETAS project, exploring the impact of urban green areas on the wellbeing of migrant communities.

In parallel, Catalina works with not-for-profit organizations to develop inclusive nature connection and citizen science programs in Australia and Chile.

She has a background in Environment and Sustainability (Master), where she designed communication formats of evolutionary evidence for conservation practitioners. In her undergrad (Plant Biotechnology), she studied spatial genetic patterns of endangered plant species in Chile for conservation management. She looks forward to integrating her interdisciplinary skills to understand and restore human-nature interactions in cities for a more equitable and biodiverse future.
