Tharindu Bandara

Tharindu Bandara is a PhD student in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies (GUSS).

Tharindu’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (Honours in Statistics), 2014, University of Sri Jayawardanepura, Sri Lanka, and a Master of Statistical Science, 2017, La Trobe University, Australia.

His research experience includes working as an intern data analyst at Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. Tharindu’s research interests include physical activity (walking), built environments, public health, data analysis and intervention studies. His current research aims to understand the longitudinal effects of the built environment on transportation and recreational walking and its differences by age and sex.
