The Climate Change Exchange is a project that is establishing a collaborative climate change research-practice network to meet the knowledge sharing, capacity building, and research needs of various government and policy stakeholders.
Concerned with adaptation, mitigation, or both, the Exchange will aim to help facilitate a network of researchers and practitioners through collaborative partnerships between participating organisations. These organisations include universities, local governments, statutory authorities such as Catchment Management Authorities and Water Authorities, State Government departments, and other bodies such as Primary Care Partnerships, The Victorian Council of Social Services (VCOSS), and Jesuit Social Services (JSS).
The Exchange provides:
- A members
only ‘Support Desk’ on The Exchange website, where members can ask for
information, guidance, or contacts regarding specific climate change
adaptation and mitigation queries. The Support Desk will also be a
platform for members to share their case studies and be connected with others in policy, research and practice working on similar projects
- Identification of shared areas of concern or questions across multiple sectors to help inform policy, practice, and research;
- Connections among organisations,
individuals, researchers, and practitioners across different sectors
and issues to support capability building and enable co-developed
research;
- Facilitation
of fee-for-service applied research partnerships between practitioners
and researchers to address identified gaps in knowledge and practice;
and
- Development
and dissemination of a suite of education and communication materials,
including case studies, podcasts, webinars, a suite of F.A.Q.s, and
summaries of the latest research on key topics.
