Margareta Windisch

Margareta's PhD research explores the intersection of gender, urban heatwaves and the use of public cool spaces.

A number of extreme and rather frightening heat events became the catalyst for Margareta’s PhD research.

Margareta is a lecturer at RMIT and coordinates the Bachelor of Social Work Field Education program. She holds a Master of Social Work and has extensive experience in sexual assault counselling. Margareta has a very strong interest in community development practices and has been actively involved in a very broad range of social movements and is particularly passionate about climate justice and women’s rights.
