Linda Williams

Williams is a cultural historian in environmental humanities focusing on histories of human-animal relations, multispecies histories of the longue-durée and current issue of mass extinction.

She has a research interest in philosophies of nature, histories and theories of emotions, and a sustained interest in the long 17th century.

Currently, she leads an ARC Linkage Project: Extinction Imaginaries: Mapping Affective Visual Cultures in Australasia with Partners: Saffron Aid & Greenpeace, Professor Paul James (WSU); Professor Marco Amati (RMIT); Professor Donna Houston (Macquarie), and Dr Rosie Ibbotson (University of Canterbury, NZ). And is a research associate of the University of Cologne, Germany.
