Shane’s project aims to investigate the increasing challenges and opportunities to intervene in issues related to the built environment and urban waterways. He will further investigate novel approaches to enhancing ecosystem services through emergent technologies and approaches.
Prior to joining the Centre for Urban Research, Shane worked as an educator and STEM leader in secondary schools delivering innovative and creative approaches to learning. He has a Master of Design Innovation and Technology from RMIT, a Diploma of Education from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Freshwater Biology and Environmental Sciences.
