Tareq Zahirul Haque

Tareq is a PhD candidate researching urban liveability and sustainability planning.

Tareq’s research focuses on the interconnections and tensions between liveability and sustainability planning from the planning and practitioners’ perspective.

Before starting his PhD, Tareq worked for around 18 years with Bangladesh government and industry (relating to sustainability and circularity policy and practice, SDGs and climate change communications), and in research.

Tareq completed a Master of Public Policy and Management at the University of Melbourne, Australia under the Australia Awards Scholarship.

Tareq’s research interests include urban liveability and sustainability planning, policy and governance, circular economy, and climate adaptation and resilience.
